Goal Rewards

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Goals tie a cash bonus to a performance target. Where a badge rewards a single event, a goal rewards hitting a number — a daily production threshold, a monthly target, or a series of checkpoints. When the team (or an individual) hits the target, the reward pays out.

Goals live under Incentives → Opportunities → Goals. The Overview lists your goal rewards for the selected month, with an Earnings Summary (Unpaid / Processing / Paid) and Quick Links to logs, payouts, and settings. Click New Goal Reward to open the designer.

The four goal types

The first step of the designer, Goal & Incentive, asks you to pick an Incentive Type. There are four, each with a different payout rhythm:

Goal type

How it pays

When to use it

Daily Goal

"Each day the goal's target threshold is achieved it will result in a payout."

Reward consistent daily performance

Monthly Goal

"Flat-rate will be paid out at end of the month if the goal is achieved."

A single reward for hitting the month's number

Above and Beyond

"Payouts will occur and accumulate for each incremental amount achieved above the target."

Reward every dollar over the goal

Checkpoints

"A flat-rate payout amount will be paid out for achieving preset target amounts."

Tiered milestones (e.g. bonuses at $50k, $75k, $100k)

💡 Tip: A goal reward is attached to an underlying performance goal (production, collections, etc.). The reward is the "if you hit it, here's the bonus" layer on top of that target.

Building a goal reward: the 5 steps

The designer walks through:

  1. Goal & Incentive — pick the goal type (above) and the target it's tied to.

  2. Assign Staff — choose the participant type and who's in:

    • Individual — "Every employee gets their own payout — set a unique reward amount for each staff member."

    • Team — "Everyone shares the same payout, differentiated only by full-time vs. part-time settings."

  3. Set Payouts — set the reward amounts. Rewards can be dollar-based (a flat bonus) or hourly-based (bonus hours), and you can set different amounts for full-time vs. part-time staff.

  4. Forecast — a projection of the incentive's cost, gain, and ROI at the goal's current pace, so you can check the numbers before committing.

  5. Publish & Announce — go live and (optionally) email each participant a personalized announcement. Save as Draft to finish later, or Publish to make it live.

Checkpoints in depth

If you choose the Checkpoints goal type, you define a series of milestone tiers — each with a target value and a payout. As the team crosses each checkpoint, that tier's bonus is earned. Checkpoints can pay a dollar amount or bonus hours, and — like other goals — can differ for full-time and part-time staff.

Checkpoints are what power the milestone table you can show on the Scoreboard: a tile can display each tier, the bonus for reaching it, and highlight the checkpoint the team has already achieved.

Full-time vs. part-time

Team-style goals let you pay a different amount to full-time and part-time staff under a single incentive — so a shared goal can still reward people proportionally to their hours without building two separate programs.

Announcing to staff

The final step's Send Email to Staff toggle sends each participant their own announcement email; a preview table shows exactly what each person receives. The email points staff to their private My Rewards dashboard, where they track their own progress toward the goal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's the difference between a Goal and a Badge? A Badge rewards a single, discrete event (one 5-star review, one same-day treatment plan). A Goal rewards hitting a performance number — often a team total over a day or month.

Q: Can one goal reward both full-time and part-time staff differently? Yes. With a Team participant type you set separate full-time and part-time payout amounts under a single goal.

Q: What does "Above and Beyond" actually pay? It pays for every increment achieved above the target — so the more the team exceeds the goal, the more the reward accumulates.

Q: Does hitting a goal pay staff automatically? Earned goal rewards flow into the same approve-then-pay queue as everything else. An Owner or Manager approves before anything is marked paid — see the Payouts article.

Q: Can I see what a goal will cost before I turn it on? Yes — that's the Forecast step. It projects cost, expected gain, and ROI at the goal's current pace before you publish.
