How Patient Replies Work

You don't have to do anything special to receive patient replies — they arrive automatically.

Incoming texts

When a patient texts back, their message drops into the matching open conversation and appears in the thread live — no need to refresh the page. The conversation also rises to the top of your list and is badged as unread so it's easy to spot.

Replies from the patient portal

If a patient responds from your patient portal instead of by text, their message flows into the same conversation thread, so you always have one continuous history in one place.

💡 Tip: Because incoming messages update the thread in real time, you can keep the inbox open and watch replies land as patients respond.
