Review Requests — Setup & Company Settings
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This article covers the one-time configuration that turns Review Requests on and controls how they behave. All of these settings apply to your whole practice.
Where the Settings Live
There are two settings pages involved:
Setting | Location |
|---|---|
Enable the feature, choose scripts, set the send delay | Settings → Marketing → Review Requests (Configuration tab) |
Google / Facebook / Yelp review links | Settings → Marketing → Reviews |
Step 1 — Enable Review Requests
Go to Settings → Marketing → Review Requests.
Open the Configuration tab.
In the Checkouts card, turn on Enable Review Requests.
This is the master switch. While it's off, every other setting on the page is locked and no review requests can be created or sent.
Step 2 — Choose Your Scripts
In the Scripts and Verbiage card, choose the wording used when asking for a review:
Patient In-Office — the verbiage staff use (or hand to the patient) when asking for a review in person.
Patient Text Message — the SMS body sent when a review request goes out by text.
Each has a View link that opens a preview of the selected script. TeamCare ships with default scripts already selected, so you can leave these as-is or pick a customized version. For how to edit the wording and which merge tags are available, see A2P & Message Templates.
Step 3 — Configure Auto-Send and Timing
In the SMS Settings card:
Auto-send SMS Review Requests — when on, TeamCare automatically texts the review request after an appointment (when staff choose "Auto-Send" at checkout). When off, requests must be sent manually.
Send Delay (minutes) — how long to wait after the appointment before the text goes out.
Minimum: 30 minutes. You can't set it lower.
Default: 30 minutes.
This field is only editable when Auto-send is turned on.
Use the delay to give the patient time to leave the office before the request arrives, which tends to produce warmer reviews.
Click Preview Review URL to see exactly what the patient's rating-and-review experience will look like.
Step 4 — Add Your Review-Platform Links
Your Google, Facebook, and Yelp links are set on a separate page: Settings → Marketing → Reviews, in the Social Media & Review Platform URLs section.
Field | What to paste |
|---|---|
Google My Business | Your Google review link (the URL patients use to leave a Google review) |
Your Facebook page's review/recommendations URL | |
Yelp | Your Yelp business page URL |
Notes:
Google always shows. The patient's review screen always includes a "Review Us on Google" button. If you leave the Google field blank, TeamCare will try to build a Google link automatically from your practice's Google Place ID (if one is on file).
Facebook and Yelp only show if filled in. Their buttons appear only when you've provided a URL.
If all three are blank, patients see a message that review links are missing — so set at least Google before going live.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I turned everything on but nothing sends. Why? Sending also requires active text messaging (an approved A2P/Business Verification registration) and a patient with a mobile number who hasn't opted out. If any of those is missing, the request waits as pending. See A2P & Message Templates.
Q: Can I set a delay shorter than 30 minutes? No. 30 minutes is the enforced minimum.
Q: Do these settings apply per provider or per location? No. Review Request settings are practice-wide. There is no per-provider or per-appointment-type configuration.
Q: Why are the review-link fields on a different page than the rest? The Google/Facebook/Yelp URLs are shared review settings and live under Settings → Marketing → Reviews, while the feature toggle, scripts, and timing live under Settings → Marketing → Review Requests.
