Updating a Provider's Role (Doctor vs. Hygienist)

If a team member is appearing in the wrong section of your reports—for example, a Doctor appearing as a Hygienist—the fix starts in your Practice Management System (PMS). TeamCare mirrors the provider classifications set within your clinical software.
Step 1: Update Your PMS
Open your PMS and navigate to the provider’s profile settings. Verify the following:
For Doctors: Ensure they are designated as a "Primary Provider" or "Doctor."
For Hygienists: Ensure they are tagged as a "Secondary Provider" or "Hygienist."
Note: Even a small checkbox in your PMS can change how TeamCare categorizes their production data.
Step 2: Automatic Sync
You don't need to manually change the role inside TeamCare. Once you save the corrected settings in your PMS, our system will automatically detect the update during the next sync cycle.
Step 3: Verify the Change
After the next sync, head to the Team Members list in TeamCare:
Confirm the provider now reflects the correct role.
Check your reports to ensure their production numbers are now populating in the appropriate Doctor or Hygiene sections.
